	كان فيه صَيّاد ماشي في غابَة بِبُنْدُقِيَّة Kaan fiih ṣayyaad maaŝi fi ġaaba bi bundu'yya. There was a hunter walking in the forest with a gun.
	اِلْغابَة كانِت مَلْيانَة شَجَر وِوَرَق شَجَر Il ġaaba kaanit malyaana ŝagar wi wara' ŝagar. The forest was full of trees and leaves.
	وِنور الشَّمْس ما كانْش بايِن عَشان فُروع اِلشَّجَر كانِت كِتيرَة قَوي Wi noor iŝ ŝams makaanŝ bayen �aŝaan fruu� iŝ ŝaga kaanit kitiira awwi. And the sunlight was not visible because of the branches of the trees (were a lot).
	اِلصَّيّاد كان ماشي في الضَّلْمَة بِشْويش بِيْدَوَّر عَلىَ أيْ حاجَة ياكُلْها Iṣṣayyaad kaan maaŝi fil dalma biŝwiiŝ biydawar �ala 'ay ḥaaga yakulha. The hunter was walking in the dark slowly looking for anything to eat.
	عشان ما كانْش شايِف كْوَيِّس كان مِعْتِمِد عَلىَ الْسَمْع �aŝaan makaanŝ ŝaayif kwayyis kaan mi�tamid �ala is sam�. Because he couldn't see well he relied on hearing.
	كان فيه بيضَة واقْفَة خايْفَة وَراه Kaan fiih biiḍa wa'fa xayfa waraah. There was an egg standing behind him afraid.
	اِلْبيضَة شافِت اِلصَّيّاد وِهُوَّ ماشي بِشْويش بِالْبُنْدُقِيّة وِجِرْيِت وَرا شَجَرَة تِسْتَخَبىَ Il biiḍa ŝaafit iṣṣayyaad wi huwwa maaŝi biŝwiiŝ bil bundu'yya wi giryit wara ŝagara tistaxaba. The egg saw the hunter while he was walking slowly with the gun and it ran behind the tree to hide.
	اِلصَّيّاد كان عارِف إن هِيَّ وَرا الشَّجَرَة بِتِسْتَخَبىَ عَشان سَمَعْها Iṣṣayyaad kaan �aarif in hiyya wara iŝ ŝagara bitistaxaba �aŝaan sama�ha. The hunter knew she was behind the tree hiding because he heard her.
	يِعْمِل إيه ؟ هُوَّ كان جَعان Ye�mil eh? Huwwa kaan ga�aan. What should he do? He was hungry.
	اِلْمُشْكِلَة إنْ رُصاصَة مِن بُنْدُقِيَّة ما تِنْفَعش في قَتْل بيضَة وِالصَّيّاد كان عارِف كِدا il muŝkila in rusaasa min bundu'yya matinfaa�ŝ fi 'atl bida wi is ṣayyaad kaan �aarif keda. The problem is that a bullet from a gun can not kill an egg and the hunter knew this.
	مِش غَريبَة إن الْبيضَة اِلْلي مِش جامْدَة خالِص مِش مَفْروض تِخاف مِن صَيّاد بِبُنْدٌقِيّة؟ miŝ ġariiba in il biiḍa il miŝ gamda xaalis miŝ mafrood tixaaf min ṣayyaad bi bundu'yya? Isn't it strange that the egg, that is not strong, is not afraid of a hunter with a gun?
