حازِم راح يوم بِالْمَرْكِبَة بِتاعْتُه عَشان يِحاوِل
يِصْطاد سَمِكَة
haazim raah
yom bilmarkiba bitaçtu çaŝaan yihaawil yisṭaad
samaka.
Hazim went one day with his boat
because he wanted to try to catch a fish.

اِلْمَيَّه كانِت هادْيَة وِالجَّوّ جَميل
Il maya kaanit hadya wi ig gaww gamiil.
The water was calm and the weather beautiful.

اِلشَّمْس ما كانِتْش جامْدَة وِالسَّما كانِت زَرْقَة
صافيَة
Iŝ ŝams makanitŝ gamda wis sama
kaanit zar'a ṣafya.
The sun was not intense and the sky was a clear
blue.

حازِم فَكَّر إن حَقُّه يِخُش جُوَّه البَحْر أكْتَر
عَشان يِلاقي سَمَكَة
haazim fakkar in
ha'u yixuŝ guwwa il bahr
'aktar çaŝaan yilaa'i samaka.
Hazim thought he should go well into the sea if he
wanted to find a fish.

قَعَد في وٍسط الْمَرْكِبَة وِأدِّف لِغايِة ما لقىَ
نَفْسُه في مَيَّه عَميقَة
'açad fi wist il markiba wi addif liġaayit mala'a
nafsu fi maya çamiika.
He sat in the middle of the boat and rowed until he
found himself in deep water.

قَرَّر يُقَف وِبَعْدين مَشّىَ موتور الْمَرْكِبَة
عَشان يِخُش جُوَّ الْمَيَّه أكْتَر
qarrar yu'af wi baçdiin maŝŝah motoor il markiba
çaŝaan yixuŝ guwwa il maya 'aktar.
He decided to stop and then turned on the motor of
the boat so that he can go into the water more.

بَعْد ما دَخَل الْمَيَّه أكْتَر طَلَّع السِّنّارة
بِتاعْتُه وِبَدَأ يِصْطاد
Baçd ma daxal il maya 'aktar ṭallaç is sannaara
bitaçtu wi bada' yisṭaad.
After he entered well into the water he took out his
fishing rod and he started to fish.

حازِم كان مَبْسوط
وِسَرَح في الشَّمْس وِالسَّما وِالْبَحْر
haazim kaan mabsuut wi sarah
fil ŝams wis sama wil bahr.
Hazim was happy and he daydreamed about the sun, and
the sky, and the sea.

حازِم سَرَح في السَّمَكَة اِللّي حَيِصْطادْها
وِاللّي حايَخُدْها لِلْبيت عَشان مِراتُه تُطْبُخْها

hayyisṭadha wil
hayaxudha lil beet çaŝaan miraatu tutbuxha.
Hazim daydreamed about the fish that he will catch
and that he will take to (his) house for his wife to
cook.
