Ibrahim and Mona went to swim in the sea together.

The weather was beautiful and the water was more beautiful.

Ibrahim used to swim far better than Mona.

Bas Mona kaanit 'ahda wi 'azka min Ibrahiim.

But Mona was calmer and brighter than Ibrahim.

Mona wi Ibrahiim la'u nafsuhum biçiid çan iŝ ŝaṭ awwi,
'aqtar min 'ay yom abl kidda.

Mona and Ibrahim found themselves too far from the shore more then any other day.

Kaanu mabṣuutiin wi faraniin bil siif.
They were in a good mood and happy with summer.

Ummuhum makannitŝ çarfa humma fiin.

Their mother didn't know where they were.

Ibrahiim kaan 'aŝ'a min Mona wi huwwa il kaan çaayiz yibçid min iŝ ŝaṭ.
Ibrahim was
more mischievous than Mona and he wanted to go far from the shore.

Marra wada Mona assit innuhum biçudu çan il kul wi xaafit.
All of a sudden Mona felt that they were too far from everyone and she was afraid.

ŝaafit
uut fil mayya wi 'aalit li Ibrahiim: yalla nirkab il ḥuut da çaŝaan ana tiçibt wi il ḥuut hayçuum 'asraç minnina.
She saw a whale in the water and she said to Ibrahim: Let's ride this whale because I am tired and the whale will swim back faster than us.

Ibrahiim kaan çaayiz yirgaç çuum lil ŝaṭ bas çaŝaan  Mona tiçbit waafi'.
Ibrahim wanted to swim back to the shore but because Mona was tired he agreed.

Il itneen, bi kul baraa'a, rakabu il
uut wi ṭalabu minnu innu yaxudhum lil ŝat.
The two of them, innocently, rode the whale and asked him to take them to the shore.

Il ḥuut waafi' wi ragaçum lil ŝat bisurça.

The whale agreed and returned them to the shore quickly.

Ibrahiim 'aal li Mona: Ana iftakart in il ḥuut xatar - miŝ maama 'aalit in law ŝufna ḥuut, la kaddar Allaah, manit
arrakŝ kaalis. Liih rikibna?
Ibrahim - I thought that the whale is dangerous - didn't mom say if we saw a whale, God forbid, we shouldn't move at all. Why did we ride him?

Mona - No Ibrahim, it is not the whale that is dangerous. It is the dolphin that is more dangerous than the whale, by a lot, silly.

Xaliina nu'f ŝwayya. Eh illi a'ktar xutuura? Il ḥuut walla id dalfin? Wi Miin 'thka... Mona walla Ibrahiim?
Let's pause for a moment. What is more dangerous... a whale or a dolphin? And, who is smarter here... Mona or Ibrahim?

Amma 'ummuhum ŝafithum çala il  ḥuut masada'tŝ nafsaha wi
itxayyilit in huwwa dalfin bas.

When their mother saw them on the whale she was shocked and she imagined it was only a dolphin.
